The first release on Western Freeway is the cassette edition of ‘Vive La Bagatelle’ by Scottish-Finnish beat combo Poverty Bar, originally released on Finland’s Royal Mint records as a limited lathe cut LP in 2017. 35 minutes of hook-laden indie-rock, ideal for fans of Pavement, Guided by Voices and Car Seat Headrest. I’m especially pleased to get the chance to put this tape out as the album ended up one of my favourites of 2017.
